Welcome Generation 4

What are the ideas behind the fourth generation of drivers? What new features do the LED drivers include and what advantages do they offer? Segment Manager Johann Hofer and Product Manager David Wainowski answer these questions and more in the video. Get to know the team and the story behind Generation 4.

An overview of the Generation 4 portfolio

With the new driver generation, we’re reducing the number of our product categories from four to three. This makes it easier for you to maintain an overview and find the right product for your requirements, as the ESSENCE (SNC), EXCITE (EXC) and PREMIUM (PRE) categories each fulfil specific tasks and needs. In addition, it’s now even clearer which LED drivers are DALI-2- or D4i-compatible, for example, or can save and transmit luminaire, energy and diagnostic data thanks to lumDATA.

Greater flexibility thanks to larger operating window

The Generation 4 LED drivers have a particularly large operating window. This means that a wider voltage range can be covered by a single device, making it possible to implement different lighting solutions with just one driver. Storage requirements are reduced because different drivers are no longer needed to accommodate multiple luminaire variants.

And we’ve even taken it one step further by overlapping the operating windows of the individual drivers. The selection of the appropriate driver can thus significantly improve the efficiency of the chosen solution.
