MIKON NEWSLETTER OF DECEMBER 2022

Another year has come to an end. For Mikon, 2022 has been an eventful year, with new customers, new employees, and a new strategic acceleration plan for making Mikon even better and more user-friendly for our customers. We see an increased interest in our products across industries. We are happy to announce that we have exciting new applications to come in 2023. 

New Releases in 2023

Mikon Studio is a browser-based access to Mikon data built on the latest technologies (Typescript/React). Mikon Studio has a beautiful dashboard and works on desktops (PC & Mac) and portable devices such as iPad, Chromebooks and smartphones. For most users, this will be the preferred user interface. Presentation components can be used in other applications, like Sharepoint Online. It can also be used for data entry. 

Mikon Server X is our next-generation server, with data-driven architecture containing advanced real-time calculations, monitoring and alerting, and a predefined configurable data model. Server X is distributed, federated, and deployed on-premises and in the cloud. 

We now deliver Power BI Dashboards for all our customers. Connecting Mikon to Power BI allows you to visualise all your data stored in Mikon in various models and create charts or graphs. Sustainability Reporting System

Sustainability is a hot topic these days, as the new disclosure rules come into effect from the 1st of January 2023 and require a disclosure to be published by the 30th of June each year. 

We are working on a customised Sustainability Reporting System tailored for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance. Mikon already traces our customer's emissions and covers scope 1 and partly scope 2. The new Mikon Sustainability Reporting System will combine Scopes 1 and 2 in a combined file. Scope 3 will be included in an upcoming version.

Company Visit

Earlier this month, we visited our customer Borregaard's plant in Sarpsborg. They run one of the world's most advanced and sustainable biorefineries to produce environmentally friendly biochemicals that replace oil-based products. Borregaard has been a customer for over a decade. We in Mikon are proud of being part of their manufacturing process, with full traceability from timber to final products. 

Four New Team Members!

We are happy to announce that we have expanded our team with four new employees in the last six months. Our staff is growing along with the increased workload, and we now have great masterminds extending from Kazakhstan to Hønefoss. 

Eivind is our new Support Manager and will help our customers with all the nooks and crannies of our systems. He holds a Master of Science in Mechanics and Process Technology from the Norwegian University of Life Science. He has previous experience as a project manager in the Aviation industry. 

Deniz holds a Master's degree in software engineering from Bogazici University in Istanbul. She has previously been working in a financial technologies startup. As one of our new back-end developers, she will be working on Mikon Server X. 

Isa is the newest member of the software developers team. She has completed numerous coding boot camps and will be working on the future functionality of Mikon, with a specific focus on back-end development. 

Rebecca is the newest member of our Project Department team. She holds a Master of Science from the University of Bergen. With previous experience in academic research and sustainable technologies, she will be working with the onboarding of new customers and follow-up of existing ones.
